KRAV MAGA LEVELS
ADULTS
Practitioner Levels (1-5)
Practitioner (P) levels are where the student begins their journey as a Krav Maga practitioner. At this level, the practitioner is known as an “Operator” — a student who is learning each technique step-by-step and applying the principles and methodologies that they have learned. Practitioner levels cover all the fundamental strikes used in Krav Maga, defenses against common empty-hand attacks (kicks, punches, chokes, etc.) from standing and on the ground, defenses against knife and club threats and attacks, basic third-party protection, and non-violent solutions. Students also learn proper decision making, and tactics for basic multiple attacker scenarios.
Graduate Levels (1-5)
Graduate (G) levels are where the student enters the “Fighter” stage. They have successfully demonstrated proper technique and have the ability for better decision-making when under stress. In these levels, students are introduced to more difficult and complicated scenarios, built on the fundamental techniques in the Practitioner Levels. Students learn more advanced strikes and striking combinations, defenses against various cold weapons attacks and firearm threats, different starting positions and states of readiness, dealing with various progressions of problems, and intermediate multiple attackers situations.
Expert Levels (1-8)
Expert (E) levels are known as the “Warrior” stage. This means Expert level practitioners can successfully move from one defense to the next without hesitation during unpredictable threats. They can also demonstrate strong skills in fighting tactics. Expert level testing is by invitation only, and has specific requirements apart from testing for each level.
Kids Levels (1-5)
Kids (K) levels (ages 5-7) focuses on the development of motor skills, understanding the options for conflict resolution, building good habits, learning to help others, and developing attention and listening skills.
Young Levels (1-5)
Young (Y) levels (ages 7-10) , students will continue to work on Krav Maga and motor skills (balance, coordination, static and dynamic strength, etc.), develop their awareness and attention skills, learn about values such as discipline, respect, helping/protecting others, and persistence.
Junior Levels (1-5)
Junior (J) levels (ages 10-13), just as in the Kids and Youth Divisions, the Juniors will learn and develop their Krav Maga skills, motor skills, and attention and awareness skills. Through the use of case studies and scenarios, we begin to help our students learn how to make sound decisions regarding their personal safety.
Teen Levels (1-5)
Teen (T) levels (ages 13-16), focuses on sharpening their Krav Maga skills, motor skills, attention and awareness, and decision-making and reactions. Techniques and tactics here bear more similarities to the adult curriculum, and more scenarios are used to help students better understand dangers in the world and how to make the right decisions in the face of these threats to their safety.
